“Auring” Intensifies into Severe Tropical Storm, TCWS #1 Raised, PAGASA Reports
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), through its latest Severe Weather Bulletin issued at 11:00 AM today (Friday), February 19, 2021, reported, ““Auring” intensifies into Severe Tropical Storm as it moves slowly over the Philippine Sea east of Mindanao.”
At 10:00 AM today, the center of the Severe Tropical Storm was estimated at 535 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Below are more details on Severe Tropical Storm “Auring”. Note, however, that this update is valid only until the next advisory which is to be issued by PAGASA at 5:00 PM today.

The surge of the Northeast Monsoon is already bringing strong breeze to near-gale conditions with occasionally higher gusts over:

The affected localities include those under TCWS #1. According to PAGASA, at the earliest, strong breeze to near-gale conditions directly associated with the Severe Tropical Storm will likely begin to prevail over the wind signal areas on Saturday.
