SM Cinema Baguio will offer free movies to senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) who are residents of the City of Pines. Starting June 10, 2019, they will be able to avail of the privilege which has been further improved.
Last week, a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the movie privilege has been signed between the local government of Baguio and SM led by Mayor Mauricio Domogan and SM Lifestyle Inc. Senior Vice President Maria Anicia Naval.
Based on the agreement, senior citizens and PWDs can enjoy a hundred percent discount on cinema admission prices at SM.
Instead of every Tuesdays, Senior Citizens and PWDs will now be able to avail and enjoy their movie privileges at SM Cinema Baguio once a day from Monday to Friday. They can also choose to watch during their preferred time and what movie they want.

Councilor Elmer Datuin, Chair of the Council Committee on Finance, said that senior and PWD residents can now process their movie pass booklets or signed privilege availment form at the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) starting on May 8, 2019.
Seniors and PWDs must bring the form and their ID (Senior Citizen ID/PWD ID) whenever they want to watch free movies at SM Cinema Baguio.
In addition, the local government will give SM a master list of beneficiaries in the city to make sure that only those who are qualified can avail of the privilege.
Through a city ordinance, SM City Baguio will receive a rebate of three percent from the amusement tax of ten percent of the gross receipts from movie house admission fees.
