Baguio City mayor Benjamin Magalong has announced on Wednesday additional restrictions that will be imposed in the city to address the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
According to the announcement posted through the Public Information Office of the City of Baguio, the number of barangays with new cases in the last 14 days has risen to 115 out of 128 or 89.15%. The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) has also reported that the city’s average number of cases in the past seven (7) days has increased to 165 and is expected to increase in the next two weeks.
To mitigate the increase of cases, the local chief executive ordered the following restrictions to be implemented in the city, in consultation with the affected sectors during the mayor’s meeting with the Local COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force, the Baguio Tourism Council (BTC), Dept. of Tourism Cordillera, Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) and representatives of the affected sectors last Sept. 8, 2021.
Starting Saturday, September 11 to Sunday, September 19, 2021, a total ban on the sale and service of liquor and other alcoholic products will be implemented.
Permitted customer capacity for enclosed/indoor seating in dine-in establishments is reduced to 30% starting Saturday, September 11 to Sunday, September 19, 2021.
Starting Saturday, September 11 to Sunday, September 26, 2021, permitted attendance for religious gatherings is reduced to 20% of the venue capacity and limited to worship activities only.
All other provisions in Executive Order No. 106 series of 2021 are maintained.
