The Municipality of Bakun, Benguet confirmed its first COVID-19 case yesterday, June 14, 2020.
According to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bakun, Benguet, the first COVID-19 case recorded in the municipality is a 49-year old male farmer from Sitio Dada, Poblacion.
Furthermore, Executive Order No. 16 – 2020, issued by Municipal Mayor Bill Raymundo, has revealed that the patient was exposed to a positive case in La Trinidad, Benguet. Thus, he was swabbed by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) personnel as part of the expanded mass testing.
On June 14, 2020, a positive result from the farmer’s swab test came in.
In line with this, Mayor Raymundo, through EO No. 16, 2020, placed Barangay Poblacion, Bakun, Benguet under lockdown effective 5:00 PM yesterday, June 14, 2020, until further notice for the conduct of contact tracing and disinfection.
