47th COVID-19 Patient of Baguio City Reveals Identity for Contact Tracing

The 47th COVID-19 Patient of the City of Baguio has agreed to the call of Mayor Benjamin Magalong to reveal her identity for the purpose of helping in the contact tracing process.

The patient is Kimberly Zarene D. Fernandez, a twenty-nine-year-old child development worker at the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

This update has been made public by the Public Information Office – City of Baguio just this Friday morning of June 3, 2020.

About Baguio City’s 47th COVID-19 Patient

According to the PIO Baguio, Fernandez was subjected to the mandatory Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test on June 29, 2020 and on July 2, 2020 that turned out positive and asymptomatic.

City Health Services Office (CHSO) personnel then immediately fetched her from the City Hall and brought her to the Sto. Niño Hospital, an isolation facility for the city.

Where the Patient has been Before Testing Positive of COVID-19

For a swift contact tracing the patient did not only reveal her identity but she also calls on those she might have been in contact with to get tested at the CHSO.

• Three days before her swab test, she went to purchase groceries at a store near Burnham Park (the only time that she went out of her usual house-to-work routine).
• She helps in fixing the Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms being scanned for easy reference of the audit and review teams.
• The working area is confined to an office in City Hall. For their lunch, the city hall canteen delivers the food to their workplace.

COVID-19 Patient’s Family

Fernandez’s family, on the other hand, were already advised to immediately conduct disinfection in their residence at Purok 9, Balenben Apugan Irisan.
